Paneer Tikka Sandwich — Better Than Café Style at Home!

A spicy, creamy, cheesy hug in sandwich form — perfect for lunch, dinner, or anytime comfort.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices of bread
  • 8 oz paneer cut into small cubes
  • ½ onion chopped
  • ½ green bell pepper chopped
  • 4 oz hung curd or Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp Kashmiri red chili powder
  • 2 tsp olive oil or mustard oil sarsau ka tel
  • 1 tsp chili paste
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi crushed
  • A generous handful of fresh cilantro chopped
  • 4 tbsp cilantro chutney optional
  • Butter — for grilling

Equipment

  • 1 Grill pan / non-stick tawa / sandwich maker
  • 1 Airtight container

Method
 

Prep the fillings:
  1. Chop onions, green pepper, and paneer into small bite-sized pieces.
Infuse the oil:
  1. Heat mustard oil (or olive oil) until it sizzles. In a mixing bowl, add chili powder and pour the hot oil over it. Let it bloom for extra flavor.
Build the marinate:
  1. Mix in the chili paste, ginger paste, and garlic paste. Stir well.Add chopped onions, peppers, and paneer into the bowl.
Flavor it up:
  1. Add the hung curd or Greek yogurt, kasuri methi, garam masala, and a lot of chopped cilantro. Mix until everything is well coated.
Marinate:
  1. Cover the mixture and refrigerate it for at least 1 hour to let the flavors deepen.
Assemble the sandwiches:
  1. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
    On the other side (optional), spread cilantro chutney.
    Add a generous amount of the paneer tikka mixture on one slice.
    Top it with another slice to make a sandwich, butter sides facing out.
Grill it up:
  1. Grill the sandwich on a hot pan or sandwich press until both sides are crispy and golden brown, and the filling is hot and melty.
Serve hot:
  1. Pair with extra chutney, ketchup, and a side of chips.
