I wanted the smoky heat of chipotle mayo on a weeknight bowl without the heaviness. Yogurt gave me the same cooling base as raita, and chipotle powder brought the warmth that makes sweet potato taste like it belongs on the plate.
This chipotle yogurt sauce is creamy, spicy-smoky, and whisked together in five minutes. It has become one of my default meal prep sauce jars for grain bowls and wraps.
Balance the heat with cucumber raita on the same menu when cooking for mixed spice tolerances. For more jar-and-whisk sauces like this, see our 12 protein-rich yogurt dressings guide.
